So a while back, we made a couple cavity covers using flamed maple for my good friend, Alan Cheung's Strandberg Boden 7 (you can check it out here). We ordered a few more pieces of flamed maple at the time so Alan could pick out which piece he liked best for his guitar. Since we had leftovers, we decided to make a small 'pick bin' for his home studio. The sides of the bin were made using solid flamed maple. The bottom is plywood, with maple veneers on the top and bottom. The whole thing was triple stained to achieve a shade of blue that Alan requested for maximum 3D effect of the flame. Hopefully it'll come into great use!
